5th Wigan - St Catherines (Founded 1939)

We are based at the St Catharines parish hall just off Scholefield Lane, in Wigan, England. Everyone is welcome! If you or someone you know would like to join please feel free to contact us through the e-mail address displayed on the website.

The company consists of three sections, Anchor Boy's, Junior and Company Section. Weekly meetings for the Anchor Boy's are on a Wednesday evening, and weekly meetings for the Junior and Company Section are on a Monday evening. The age of the members determine which section they are in.

Why be a member of the Boys' Brigade?
- The Boys' brigade is valuable in many respects. It gives you the opportunity to learn new skills, have fun and make new friends. In the Junior and Company section you have the opportunity to go on the Annual camp, which is great fun and there is a lot to do. In the company section there is also a band, in which we perform for local community events and local parish walking days including our own. The Boys' Brigade gives you self-respect and discipline, which looks good to people like prospective employers, school's or college's. Each month, usually the 3rd Sunday of the month there is a church parade service. As a member you are required to attend that service, and you will have the opportunity to take part in some way or form. The Boys' Brigade is a Christian organisation, and that means that our members should set a fine example to fellow members, and to be good respectful Christians.

Joining the Boys' Brigade will be good for yourself, and will give you something to do instead of hanging around on street corners. The Boys' Brigade is very useful, so come on down!!!

If you do not live in our local area, there are plenty of different companies dotted around the towns and cities of the UK, in fact around the World!
